Previous Group Project Outcome

It was my first semester in college and I was in an engineering class. Everyone was pretty new to the material that was being taught and for one project we had to work in groups. My group had 5 people. When we got our assignment, it turned out that only a few of the group members wanted to participate. What it lead to was one kid and myself doing mostly all of the work and the other kids not very much. I tried to give them smaller tasks that they could do to get them to feel like a part of the group. They would do some things but it was tough, because they didn't show up half of the time, or were late to everything. We ended up getting everything accomplished that was asked of from the project, but it was not a very good experience. Two people should not have to do the work of five and it would be nice if everyone just pitched in a little bit.
